What To Expect
The world-famous Ming Tombs, located at the southern foot of Tianshoushan Mountain in Changping District, Beijing, since the Yongle seven years (1409 AD) in May began to make the Changling Mausoleum, to the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Chongzhen, hidden in the Siling, during which more than 230 years, this place has been built 13 brilliant imperial tombs, 7 concubines, 1 eunuchs' tombs. A total of 13 emperors, 23 empresses, 2 princes, more than 30 concubines, 2 eunuchs, is now the world's best-preserved, but also the most buried emperors of the tomb complex. With majestic architecture, complete system and long history, the Ming Tombs have high historical and cultural relics value. Ming Dingling Mausoleum is the Wanli Emperor's mausoleum, the general layout of the ground building is rounded in front and behind, containing the ancient Chinese philosophical concept of "heaven and earth" symbolism. Dingling Mausoleum as early as in the lifetime of the Wanli Emperor began construction, Wanli twelve years (1584 AD) began construction, which took six years to complete, costing eight million taels of silver. When the mausoleum was completed, the emperor was only 28 years old, and it was not until 1620 that the mausoleum was officially opened, and the mausoleum was left unused for 30 years. Dingling became one of the three mausoleums in the Thirteen Tombs.
