What To Expect
Hiroshima Castle is located on the flat ground of the delta of the Ota River. Because it looks like a black carp, it is also known as "Carp Castle". It was built by the famous general Mori Terumoto in 1589, and it took 10 years to complete. This beautiful castle was completely destroyed in the atomic bombing of 1945. The current castle was rebuilt in 1958 in the same way as it was, standing on the top of the city overlooking the surrounding city.
